Mission Status

Saturday August 10, 2002

Even as the vans pulled down the street, there were final farewell waves.
Gelsey and Danny, who have shared many fun times singing, praising, and talking together way into the night, enjoy the views from the top of the Carpathian Mountains.

To end the trip, the team stopped for a picnic and devotional meeting atop the Carpathians. It was the perfect opportunity to stop and recount how we have seen God's hand at work in this mission - from how the early concerns many of us had after signing up proved to be without foundation, to the realization of many dreams.
"I'm the king of the castle!"

"Parting is such sweet sorrow." Teams 2 and 3 bid farewell to the children, staff and translators after two incredible weeks of building new friendships and strengthening old ones.
And so the 2002 mission teams returned home today. This was an incredible year. Never before have team members come together so well; never before has so much been accomplished. International Children's Aid Foundation is operated entirely by volunteers. That is good because it means that virtually every penny we receive from our donors goes where they intended it to go--to our ministry with children. But it also means that we have a high need for volunteers to accomplish our work. ICAF thanks those who participated in the 2002 mission trips, from those who went to Romania to those who supported them financially and in prayer. We also express our heartfelt gratitude to our partners such as A-DEC, Pelton & Crane, and FedEx who contributed thousands of dollars worth of their products and services toward the new dental clinic. You helped the miracle come alive! Without all of you, the lives of Romania's orphaned children would be immeasurably worse. Thank you again...please consider supporting ICAF throughout theyear...and start thinking now about joining us in 2003 for a short-term mission trip to Romania.
