| Today was a really special
day in God's service. The heavy morning rain kept a lot of the children away from VBS, because many of them walk several miles to get here. The clinic was very busy, nevertheless, and we had record attendance at English Club an the two Bible study classes. In Hunedoara, the Bright Beginnings team continued to make progress with the new therapy lessons. Meanwhile in Deva, slavedriver Cliff and his two lackeys Jason and Reggie made an enormous headway in building the darkroom needed to expose screens in the Bright Futures tee-shirt factory. While all this was going on, Mo Bing and Adriana threw themselves into their job of designing the first crop of tee shirts. In the evening, we held the dedication ceremony of the Faith Christian Center in Brad. Dean gave a short but very appropriate message and the Romanian translators gave us some wonderful praise songs. It was a packed house...literally standing room only..and almost 70 people crowded in to see what was happening. We told them this was not our, but THEIR Christian center, and invited them to come forward afterwards if they were ready to make a commitment to making it a success. One teenager said he would like to invite his non-Christian friends here to play guitars and listen to our Christian message, in a setting they never could have been invited to in the existing churches. Others had similar affirmations of the Center, and offers of their help in developing it. |
