Our Children at Emanuel

We currently have 19 children at Casa Emanuel. Each comes from a troubled background but has stability and a loving, caring, supportive family with us at Casa Emanuel. All the children are available for sponsorship. We encourage communication at least with a card on the children’s birthday or more often if you wish! Sending individual packages directly to the child is discouraged, because of the cost and difficulty of obtaining the packages for our staff and the possibilities of jealousy among the children.

Our current family at Emanuel:

Mirabela

Mirabela is a very bright girl who is in her second year at the University at Cluj . Mirabela still spends time at Casa Emanuel between classes and stays in contact with her older sisters, both “graduates” of Casa Emanuel.

Flavius

Flavius just finished his second year at the University at Timisoara and goes “home” to Emanuel when he’s not in NJ working over the summer at the shore!

Roxana

Roxana will be attending college for the first time this fall. She is involved with sports and is helpful with the younger kids at Emanuel, her housemother reports.

Cristina

Cristina and her two younger brothers are at Emanuel. Cristina is in high school and receives medical care for an ongoing heart problem. Schoolwork is not her favorite thing, her housemother reports, but she’s hard working around the house and spends lots of time with the younger children, helping them.

Dorel

Dorel, age 13, is a bright boy at the top of his class at school. He’s very protective of his younger brother Nelu and sister Florina, both also at Casa Emanuel. Dorel is hard working and responsible.

Ionut

Ionut is a quiet 12 year old whose sister Cristina and younger brother Mirel are also at Casa Emanuel. Ionut has occasional contact with his natural family but is happy living at Casa Emanuel, although schoolwork is not his favorite thing to do.

Nelu

Nelu, who is 12, works hard to get good grades at school. He’s always helpful and gets along well with the other children, particularly his older brother Dorel and younger sister Florina.

Mirel

Mirel is 10 years old and mischievious at times, his housemother says! He’s loving and does well at school but needs help with reading.

Izabela

Izabela, age 10 is quiet but very helpful and sweet. She wears glasses and does well at school, even helping the other children with their reading.

Florin

Florin, age 11, struggles with school and is under medical treatment for emotional difficulties. He loves and protects Oana, his younger sister.

Oana

Oana, age 10, is all girl and loves playing dolls and drawing. She does well at school but needs help with reading., and loves singing in church.

Florina

Florina, age 10, is sensitive but friendly and does well in school. Florina loves her brothers, Nelu and Dorel, who watch out for her.

Adrian

Adrian is 9 years old. He has a short attention span and loves to learn new things. His older sister is Izabela.

Gabriela

Gabriela is 9 years old and sings beautifully. She’s sensitive and smart and does well at school.

Denisa

Denisa, age 8, is Gabriela’s younger sister. She also sings well and is sweet and friendly.

Daniel

Daniel, age 8, is friendly and active; he’s all boy! His younger brother Razvan is also at Casa Emanuel.

Razvan

Razvan, age 6, is sweet and friendly .
